People! Carolina Olmi

Dopo una luuunga pausa, ho finalmente modo di tornare a scrivere, e lo faccio parlando di una persona davvero speciale. Carolina Olmi, (quasi) ventinovenne, è una vecchia - e apprezzatissima - conoscenza. Ex blogger, bancaria di professione, instagrammer per passione. Con i suoi scatti racconta un personalissimo stile, fatto di luoghi, outfit impeccabili, chicche beauty e non solo.

After a long break, I finally get back to write, and I do that talking about a very special person. Carolina Olmi, (almost) twenty-nine years old, is an old - and appreciated - acquaintance of mine. Former blogger, current banking and instagrammer, her feed is a stylish mix of places to be, inspiring outfits, beauty goodies and more.

Come definiresti il tuo stile?

Non ho uno stile ben preciso, dipende da come mi sveglio la mattina!  Certe volte mi sento minimal, altre volte ho bisogno di colori strong e tocchi eccentrici che mi mettano di buonumore… Mai strafare però! In linea di massima potrei definire il mio stile “classico, ma con un twist”!

How would you describe your style?

I have no specific style, it depends on how I wake up. Sometimes I feel minimal, other times I need a dose of strong colors and quirky touches. But never overdo it! I like to think of my style as "classic with a twist".

Chi è il tuo designer preferito?

Adoro i classici senza tempo come gli stili firmati Chanel e Burberry, il minimalismo di Céline, ma anche Valentino, romantico e rock al tempo stesso.

Who is your favourite fashion designer?

I love the timeless classics, such as Chanel and Burberry, the Celine minimalism, but also Valentino, romantic and rock at the same time.

Parlaci dei tuoi must-have.

Preferisco indossare un solo pezzo importante per volta. Può essere una “IT BAG”, un capospalla o un paio di scarpe stravaganti. Insomma un solo oggetto sul quale costruire l’intero look.

What is your must-have piece?

I mostly only wear one important piece at a time. It would be an “IT BAG”, a jacket or a pair of extravagant shoes. In short, a single thing on which to build an entire look.

Il tuo segreto di bellezza.

Preferisco utilizzare pochi prodotti ma buoni: la sera non potrei mai rinunciare al balsamo labbra La Mer e al Midnight Recovery di Khiel’s. Al mattino invece applico il “drammatically different gel” di Clinique, due passate di Ruby Woo di Mac e una spruzzata di Blanche di Byredo… non so cosa voglia dire prepararmi con calma, sono sempre di fretta!

Your beauty secret.

My beauty routine is minimal (I'm always in a hurry!), using powerful products: La Mer lip balm and Kiehl's Midnight Recovery at night; Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel By Clinique, Ruby Woo lipstic by Mac and my favourite perfume, Blanche by Byredo, in the morning.

L’assistente di Anna Dello Russo, Carlotta Oddi. La trovo perfetta in ogni occasione perché riesce a personalizzare qualsiasi capo indossi senza essere mai banale, né risultare eccessiva, cosa che spesso avviene nel fashion system.

Ho appena acquistato Love x Style x Life di Garance Doré. Non vedo l’ora di iniziarlo per riuscire a carpire i segreti del vero stile parigino!

I just bought Love x Style x Life by Garance Doré. I can't wait to start reading it and discover the essence of Parisian style!

Come definiresti il tuo stile?

Direi décontracté , chic ma al contempo  moderno.

How would you describe your style? 

I would say that is quite laid back, chic and modern most of the time.

Chi è il tuo designer preferito?

Alexander Wang, un designer davvero talentuoso che in pochissimo tempo è riuscito ad affermarsi e a imporsi nel mondo del fashion. Lo trovo davvero stimolante. Adoro tutte le sue collezioni e il modo in cui mescola texture preziose e materiali dall'appeal sportivo.  

Who is your favourite fashion designer? 

Alexander Wang is my ultimate favourite designer! I adore him as a person as he has achieved so much in such a short space of time, and at such a young age - very inspiring! His collections are always perfect in my eyes, as I love sports luxe and the way he plays with different textures!

Qual è il tuo must-have?

Direi un paio di stivaletti neri come questi di Jeffrey Campbell. Non indosso altro durante l'inverno.
 
What is your must-have piece?  

Right now I woud have to say a pair of black ankle boots like these Boone Bootie Jeffrey Campbell! Boots are all I wear when it comes to Autumn-Winter.

Il tuo segreto di bellezza.

Semplicemente, lavo il viso con acqua fredda dopo aver usato il mio abituale detergente o scrub. Si tratta di un trucchetto a costo zero che aiuta a restringere i pori.
       
Your beauty secret.

One beauty regime I swear buy is simply washing face with cold water after using my facial washes/cleansers/scrubs as it helps to tighten my pores!

Chi è la tua icona di stile?

Adoro Julia Sarr Jamois. È imbattibile nell'abbinare capi confortevoli con un risultato stilosissimo. Mi piace il modo in cui aggiunge tocchi maschili ai suoi look, ad esempio indossando una gonna con le sneackers!

Who is your style icon?

My style icon would have to be Julia Sarr Jamois. She masters the art of looking very stylish and comfortabe at the same time. I adore the way she adds a boyish element to her looks - for example pairing a skirt with trainers!

IT di Alexa Chung. Un'ottima lettura. E poi amo il suo stile!

IT by Alexa Chung is definitely a good read, and I love her style!

As a serial shopper, I could spend all day walking in and out of fashion stores along Oxford/Regent/Bond street, which are located in Central London.

Definirei il mio stile estremamente femminile e molto classico. Margot del blog "You make Fashion" mi considera una sorta di Maria Antonietta in chiave moderna.

How would you describe your style?

People often tell me that it is very feminine and classical. Margot from the blog “You make Fashion" even described me as a kind of modern Marie-Antoinette!

Qual è il tuo must-have?

Una stola a motivi paisley. La indosso ogni giorno. Trovo che renda elegante e chic ogni outfit. È un capo senza tempo che ogni ragazza dovrebbe avere!

What is your must-have piece?

My Russian shawl. I wear it every day; it is so warm, colorful and elegant! It’s a timeless piece every girl needs!

Qual è il tuo segreto di bellezza?

Non c'è nulla di segreto. Mi piace molto l'effetto bonne mine, che ottengo applicando un tocco di blush e dell'illuminante.

What is your beauty secret?

Nothing is secret! I love putting some Blush on with some pearl eye shadow on my cheekbones. I think it looks so fresh and feminine!

Chi è la tua icona di stile?

Ho così tante ispirazioni! Ma se devo fare dei nomi direi alcune famose it-girl russe come Miroslava Duma e Ulyana Sergeenko. Adoro inoltre lo stile di Miranda Kerr.

Who is your style icon?

I have so many inspirations! But I’d say that I admire the style of these famous Russian it-girls, Miroslava Duma, Ulyana Sergeenko. I also like Miranda Kerr’s looks!

Il libro che hai sul comodino in questo momento?

Nessuno al momento. Nonostante ami molto leggere, tra la gestione del blog e l'università non mi rimane molto tempo libero. Attendo le vacanze per rilassarmi e godermi qualche buon libro.

What book is currently on your beside table?

I don’t have any at the moment! I take the time to read only during holidays, although I really enjoy it! Blogging and studying at university at the same time leaves no time for casual leisure such as reading.

Natalie Off Duty è la mia ossessione in questo periodo. Mi piace il suo stile - cool e casual al tempo stesso - ottenuto mixando pezzi vintage con i must have del momento.

Natalie Off Duty is my crush of the moment! I love her cool and relaxed style, with vintage clothes mixed with high fashion must-haves!

"Le Rafiot", un bar realizzato all'interno di un battello situato a Strasburgo. Trovo che sia un'idea fantastica! Un altro posto delizioso è il "Griffin Steakhouse" di Stoccolma, ristorante di cui apprezzo molto non solo i piatti ma anche l'arredamento in stile rètro.

What are your top venues?

"Le Rafiot", an awesome bar in Strasbourg ! It is located on a boat, I love this idea! When I went to Stockholm, I had a diner at the "Griffin Steakhouse". The meal was delicious but what I loved the most was the vintage like decoration!

Sono un’estimatrice dell’olio di Argan. Fa miracoli sui miei capelli!

I love Argan oil, a natural miracle for restoring my hair!

Adoro Sarah Jessica Parker. Ha uno stile unico e riconoscibile. Alcuni accostamenti possono sembrare azzardati, in realtà ogni capo o accessorio si armonizza perfettamente con gli altri.

Who is your style icon?

I absolutely love Sarah Jessica Parker. You can spend hours watching how she creates her unique style matching clothes which, at first sight, wouldn’t go together well.

Laboutiq Cafe concept store and MOHER Vintage & Design. Bar BazyliaBuffet, where you can taste traditional Polish dishes, and Cafe Central with its delicious bagels. Finally, flower shops in Solny Square.

Sono totalmente affascinata dagli anni '70 e '90. Non ho in mente qualcuno in particolare, ma se devo fare dei nomi direi Jane Birkin, Anita Pallenbergh, Bianca Jagger, Debbie Harry per quanto riguarda gli anni '70 e Kate Moss e Winona Ryder per i '90.

I'm so fasxinated by the 70s and the 90s. It is difficult to determine just one person, but if I have to name someone might be Jane Birkin, Anita Pallenbergh, Bianca Jagger, Debbie Harry about the 70s and Kate Moss and Winona Ryder about the 90s.

Sto cercando di finire Cinquanta sfumature di Grigio, ma lo trovo terribilmente noioso.

I'm trying to finish Fifty Shades of Grey, but I found it terribly boring.
